Maria is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, Mental Health Facilitator, and Mindfulness Meditation Practitioner with a Masters in Clinical Psychology from University of Phoenix. She specializes in transitional life counseling, substance use disorders, mental and emotional dysregulations, prolonged grief counseling, family dysfunction, and sleep disorders.
As a licensed chemical dependency counselor, Maria has worked with individuals and group environments with substance use disorders, primarily residential and IOP programs, for over 9 years.

Her passion is concentrated in promoting positive and holistic psychology through transitioning life counseling for emerging adults, reducing the risk of chemical dependency and increasing healthy entries into adulthood.

She engages individuals of various ages using therapeutic processes supported by evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, CBT for insomnia, mindfulness mediation, art and life skills therapy, and cognitive processing therapies.
